Within the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe, the programme Young Postmigrant Alliances encompasses varied formats and themes that share a common approach, centered on postmigrant alliances and focusing on processes of social negotiation. Young people with varied backgrounds address issues of just participation and equal opportunities, deal with questions of identity and belonging and work together to promote diversity.

The approach and previous work of the Young Islam Conference under the motto “Values, not origins” will be expanded: We conceptualise and promote alliances in a greater variety of forms—those affected and those not affected by racism, and Muslims and non-Muslims, these also extend to alliances between people from East and West Germany, European alliances beyond the borders of Germany, alliances between different marginalized groups such as between Muslims and Jews. Finding allies and working together for our democracy, for equal participation of minorities, against racism and all forms of discrimination, is and remains an important component of our work.

In addition to the Young Islam Conference, the Zukunft D project on digital democracy as well as the project Moving Europe—Negotiating Legacies of Migration at the Museum fall under the Young Postmigrant Alliances programme. Within these projects, which run over several years, we implement various formats such as workshops and academies. In 2025, we will also be holding formats on the culture of debate and remembrance, media literacy and Muslim-Jewish alliances. The program section also includes the travel grants, the video documentations of which are collected on the Instagram channel @Postmigrant_Europe.
